I do not see initially that there is a potential problem being stored up for people if education, is tailored to fit into their culture and personal preferences, after all it makes sense. It would not make sense for every one around the world to be taught in exactly the same way, after all this may mean that what they are learning will not have any relevance to their later lives and education may be pointless. The only problem that I can see is that with the personal preferences, there personal preference maybe to not learn certain key legacy skills and therefore they may not have the basics for life in general.
Another potential problem might be that people become to complacent, like I mentioned in the previous blog about you being stretched. I don’t believe this would happen if everything is tailor made, if every body got exactly what they wanted and needed all the time.
Prensky would probably say that this is a good thing as the way we are processing information is different, and so maybe changing education to fit this new culture of new media that is evolving would, according to Prensky make sense and work.

Kayleigh,
If we only learn about our own culture, or only learn stuff that interests us...is this not going to make us quite ignorant to other peoples cultural beliefs? Do you think students always know exactly what they want to learn? Isn't it best initially to be given a broad educational base, and then allowed to specialize over time?
All the best
Emma
