Abstract 2
Another article by Marc Prensky. This article is explaining what digital natives and immigrant are, that the natives were brought up surrounded by all these technologies and so this is how they think, where as the immigrants were not and so have had to learn later on in their lives about computers etc. Again he is talking about educating and how the digital immigrants do not understand that the digital natives will have to be taught in a different way, as they have been brought up using different parts of there brains. Marc Prensky believes that they should be taught in a way that relates to the digital world, for instance instantaneously, not step by step, and random access like hypertext. Teachers should not go back to there old ways of teaching they should take a step forward and take into account the fact that children learn in a different way now. There are two types of content in education, legacy and future. Legacy is what we have been learning for a very long time, for instance reading and writing ( which he believes may die out like Latin and Greek did) and Future is digital and technological. He helped create a computer game called “monkey wrench” which helped people to learn how to use some software called CAD. This helped prove his theory. He believes that now it is not a question of what do they have to do? It is more of how are they going to do it? For instance how are they going to transfer or the learning to digital.

Kayleigh,
Do be careful with the word 'their' /'there' in your work. What are your thoughts on Prensky's concepts for education?
ALl the best
