3) Should education 'stretch a person do you think? (What do you mean by 'stretch'?)
I think that education should stretch the mind. I believe that in order to do that people maybe should learn in ways that maybe they are not used to. So Prenskys theory of learning through computer games etc, may not actually stretch peoples minds, it may make them become complacent. As they will always be learning in the same way. I do think that doing this blogging has stretched my mind, as I have had to express my opinion and really think about what I have read and what that means to me. When you are in a seminar it is easy to sit back and not say anything and just listen to what other people think. Where as on this module, it is not that easy to do that. I think when saying that education should stretch a person, it should not just be in the learning sense, therefore the fact that we still have seminars and are not completely online, does try and encourage people to speak out face to face with there colleagues, where as blogging maybe doesn’t. So I still believe that a combination of new media learning and face to face “legacy” learning is the way forward and that this would stretch me educationally.

I think I know what you mean, and physical confrontation may often help people and give them the drive to respond and think under pressure. Because of this, I think that complete e.g. distance learning poses social problems for society.
Kayleigh,
Yes, I'd perhaps agree with you, that I don't necessarily think that Gaming is a good way to learn. I think too, that yes, this does show the benefits of this unit, in that everyone has had to clearly show what work they've done. Good.
All the best
