task 3

it could be said that technology is the prim mover in society, it is the one thing that determins how society is going to change. On the one hand i do agree with this because, with the development of new technologies, everyday activites are changing and sometimes made easier the more technology develps, A simple example of this is the fact that you can take a mobile phone almost anywhere, therefore you can get in contact with people more easily. This has changed the way society has lived, people have come to rely on there mobile phones, i know for one if i loose my mobile phone i feel lost and freak out cos it feels like i cant get in contact with any one. Al though this is the case i do not believe that tachnology can be the one thing that completely determins how our society is going to be shaped im sure there are other factors that fall into this. Technology just happens to be a very key factor in this i dont believe it to be the only one though!

i die without my phone, but thats just because we've grown up through the whole 'everyone has mobile phones' phase, you know, like we wer about 12 or something when it became standard that evry1 owned a mobile

Kayleigh, I know that the blogs are fairly informal, but I'd still try to use capital 'I' when you write, correct spelling and punctuation. I think the point you make about us being reliant on technology is valid....I too feel at a loss without my mobile. You sau that 'I'm sure there are are other factors that fall into this' ....can you expand upon this, and consider what they may be? There's a lot on determinism in the Lister book, it may be an idea to do some reading, and use relevant quotes to support your argument.

All the best

Emma.
